Concurrent Evaluation of Macro Management of Agriculture Scheme: 2004-05 In Himachal Pradesh, 2007, Ranveer Singh, C. S. Vaidya and Anshuman Karol
Abstract : Centrally sponsored scheme Macro Management of Agriculture was launched by the government of India during 2000-01 on 90:10 percent Central and State share basis. This is a package of 11 different schemes implemented in 10 districts of the State except Kinnaur and Lahaul- Spiti. The concurrent evaluation of the centrally sponsored scheme Macro management of Agriculture in Himachal Pradesh has been conducted for the year 2004-05. The study reveals that out of the total sanctioned amount under various schemes, 54 percent to 115 percent was utilized during 2004-05. The scheme largely benefited the less privileged classes of the society as majority of beneficiaries of the schemes belonged to SC OBC categories. Cropping intensity has increased up to 20 percent after the implementation of the schemes. Productivity of crops has also increased. The income of the farmers has increased in the range of 1.21 percent to 106 percent among the beneficiary farmers.
