Statistical Profile Of Western Himalayan Region, 1980, By R. Swarup

Abstract: The Western Himalayan Region of India consisting of Uttar Pradesh Hills, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir is the most picturesque region of the country. As elsewhere in the country, agriculture in Western Himalayan region is still very much dependent on weather. On the basis of climate and elevation, western Himalayan region has been divided into three zones: outer Himalayas, Inner Himalayas and alpine Zone. Broadly speaking, the Western Himalayan region has four well-defined rainy seasons. The South-West monsoon. Therefore, statistical profile of various agro, climatic zones became the need of this study.
